About Me

I grew up competing in gymnastics and track. At the age of 16, back in 1990, I started teaching group fitness classes. Currently I am certified to teach Spin, Yoga, Bootcamp, Strenthg training, HIIT, Pilates (mat and reformer) in addition to being a Certified Personal Trainer. My passion is helping people reach goals, which is why I went back to school in 2013 to get a degree in Health and Wellness management. I am also a Certified Health and Wellness Coach and assit people with lifestyle and behvioral change. I have two children, who are now adults, so I know how to assit athletes with training who have families. I understand the importance of modifications in schedules to accommodate work and family which is why I like to build rapport with my cleints so I know how to help them adjust and modify things when needed. Ironman in not just a race, but a journey on finding out what you are capable of doing both mentally and physically. I started competing in triathlons in 2005 and did my first 140.6 Ironman in 2008. They journey for me was very challenging since I was not an endurance ahtlete. I had 18 years of gymnastics experience and 7 years of a sprinter. I learned how to swim, bike, and run efficently by an amazing triathlon coach. I now give back some of that knowledge so others can cross the finish line and hear "you are an Ironman!" 

Philosophy

My approach is to work together with the athlete and guide them and design a realistic training plan specifically for them and thier lifestyle. Building rapport with my clients is very important to me and allows me to make the training journey enjoyable by breaking it down into duable parts. First time Ironman athletes come into Ironman training with mixed emotions and sometimes self-doubt. I am also a certified health and wellness coach and do very well with finding the strenths that each athlete can hone in on to keep them not only motivated, but also help them build self-efficacy that will keep them focused on making it to race day when they feel like quitting.
