About Me

I am a coach who is passionate about helping athletes achieve their goals. My approach is rooted in a deep understanding of exercise science and the unique needs of each individual. Effective coaching is not just about implementing a training plan but also about building a supportive and communicative relationship with the athlete.

Philosophy

My coaching philosophy is informed by the following key principles: • Individualized Training: I recognize that each athlete is different and requires a personalized approach based on their unique physiology, experience, and goals. I take into account an athlete’s age, gender, fitness level, and other factors when creating a training plan. • Data-Driven Approach: I leverage data to monitor and assess activities, quantify training stress, and predict outcomes. I use tools to track metrics such as heart rate, power, and pace, in order to make timely adjustments. • Focus on Function: I emphasize the importance of movement quality and stability as the foundation for athletic performance. I utilize movement screens like the Active Body Check (ABC) to identify areas of dysfunction and ensure that athletes move well before they move often. • Injury Prevention: I prioritize injury prevention through proper training, screening, and education. I believe in proactively addressing injury risks and helping athletes differentiate between fatigue, soreness, and pain. • Holistic Approach: I understand that life factors such as work, travel, and emotional stress can impact an athlete's training. Therefore, I help manage training around these factors, promoting balance and sustainability. • Importance of Recovery: I recognize that recovery is just as critical as training for optimal performance. I ensure that athletes have adequate rest, and use training zones to assist in recovery. • Open Communication: I maintain open communication with my athletes, using questionnaires, interviews, and regular feedback to ensure their training plan aligns with their goals and needs. I work with my athletes to educate them about their training, making decisions together. My interest in coaching is fueled by a desire to empower athletes to reach their full potential. I believe that through focus, planning, and commitment, every athlete can achieve their personal finish line. I strive to be more than just a coach, acting also as a counselor to help athletes navigate the challenges of training and life. I use my experience with tools like TriDot and the principles of exercise science to help my athletes reach their full potential.
